The fundamental work of the IAAA, consists on the development of software systems, and therefore cannot be object of patents in the scope of the European Union. Nevertheless, the National Commission that evaluates the investigation activity has established that, for the field of application of Engineering and Architecture, will preferably value "...registered computer programs , or that at least some company has interest in its use ...". In this scope, the IAAA has developed diverse components of software, all of them contracted by diverse institutions or companies, of which it has registered his intellectual property.
